Privacy Policy – Topo4GPS

Topo4GPS for Android is an offline topographic mapping application developed by NtFD Design.

This Privacy Policy applies solely to the Topo4GPS Android mobile application distributed via Google Play and explains how information is handled when you install and use that App.

This policy does not apply to other Topo4GPS products, including PC, Mac, or Garmin map products, which operate independently and do not collect user data.

General browsing of the Topo4GPS website does not involve advertising, behavioural tracking, or analytics implemented by NtFD Design.

1. Location Data

Topo4GPS uses your device’s GPS to display your position and assist with navigation features.
• Location data is processed locally on your device.
• Location data is not transmitted to us.
• Location data is not stored on external servers.

2. Trial and Purchases

Topo4GPS offers a 3-day free trial. Continued access requires a one-time purchase (currently NZD $40) processed through Google Play.

All monetary transactions are processed through Google Play.

We do not:
• Collect or store payment information
• Receive your credit card details
• Access your Google account credentials

Google may collect and process transaction-related data in accordance with its own Privacy Policy.
The App verifies purchase status using Google Play’s billing services. This verification process does not provide us with personally identifiable information.

3. Map Download

On first use, the App downloads approximately 350 MB of map data.

• This download does not require account creation with NtFD Design or Topo4GPS.
• No personal data is collected by us during this process.
• Once downloaded & purchased, the App functions offline.

4. GPX Files and Waypoints

If you create, import, or export GPX files:

• Data is stored locally on your device.
• The App does not upload GPX files to any server.
• You retain full control over your data.

5. Data Storage

Topo4GPS is designed to operate offline after the initial map download.

• No user accounts are required.
• We do not operate servers that store user data.
• We do not sell, rent, or share personal information.

6. Third-Party Services

The App uses:

• Google Play (app distribution and billing)
• Android system services (location and storage permissions)
• These services may collect information under their own privacy policies.

We do not use advertising networks.

7. Children’s Privacy

Topo4GPS is not directed at children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
